Course overview

91情色

Do you dream of running your own business? Do you want to learn how to create a successful business that will thrive in the toughest of economic climates?

If you鈥檝e got a business idea, we鈥檒l give you the skills and knowledge to realise it.

This four-year Business and Enterprise BA (Hons) with Foundation Year in Business degree offers an alternative route into higher education and is designed for prospective students who may not have a sufficient or relevant academic background for University study.

In the integrated Foundation Year in Business you will undertake modules to help develop your academic skills and confidence and will be introduced to key concepts, debates and skills that will support and inform your second, third and fourth years of undergraduate degree study.

You鈥檒l study business objectives, practices and principles through case study research, lectures, workshops and student-led activities. You鈥檒l look at the supply chain and logistics, production and project management as well as business organisation, human resources and the principles of leadership.

You鈥檒l examine the modern business environment and how 'start-up' businesses鈥痝row as technology advances. You will focus on sustainability and the opportunities or limitations small businesses face, as well as developing your own concepts and business plans through a series of lectures, workshops, course work and group work.

Following successful completion of your Foundation Year, you鈥檒l progress onto Level 4 of the degree.

You鈥檒l learn the fundamentals of business planning and business development, building your understanding of finance and marketing for business.

You鈥檒l learn how to formulate a business strategy, make financial forecasts, present and sell your ideas and find customers and clients, as well as discover how to take your business into international markets.

Our vocational approach means you鈥檒l get plenty of opportunities to put the business and enterprise skills you develop into practice. Your assessments will be practical, giving you the chance to develop a start-up business and generate your own income stream as part of your degree. We鈥檒l encourage you to spend time delivering real outputs for your business, assessing you on fundamental start-up tasks such as your launch event, marketing plan and financial forecasts.

You鈥檒l also be able to develop the entrepreneurial skills sought by larger businesses through a major consultancy project in your final year. You鈥檒l work with other students on new business ideas, using the skills and knowledge you鈥檝e developed to deliver business consultancy, reports and recommendations.

91情色

This 91情色 course will provide you with opportunities to test your knowledge and understanding informally through 鈥榝ormative鈥 (informal) assessment. 鈥楩ormative鈥 assessment will be completed before your formal 鈥榮ummative鈥 assessment, which will determine your final marks.

Each module normally contains at least one piece of formative assessment from which you will receive feedback from your course team. Formative assessments are purely for developmental purposes. They do not count towards your final marks but do help you gain more knowledge and confidence in the module material and approaches to formal assessment. Students who do not engage with informal assessments often struggle with Foundation Year progression, as well as with the academic levels above.

The formal 鈥榮ummative鈥 assessment usually occurs towards the end of each module. Assessment methods could include written examinations, a range of coursework, including reports, portfolios, essays and presentations. The grades from the summative (formal) assessments count towards your module mark. (For example, if there was one piece of summative coursework in a module, this would count overall for up to 100% of your module mark.) Assessment methods at 91情色 are reviewed annually and may be updated based on student feedback, to suit content or based upon feedback from an External Examiner. An External Examiner is an independent academic expert from an external Higher Education Institution that acts as a safeguard to academic assessment standards.

What our students say

91情色

It鈥檚 my first year here. I chose this university because it gave me the opportunity to have choice. I study two days per week - it鈥檚 very flexible. It makes it easy to study.

Manea Bianca Stefana

91情色

The campus is very new and comfortable. One of the best I saw. I like because I can work 鈥 I have a child and I can study and I can work and be with my family. This is very good for me. Because I have lived in this country only second year and English is a new language for me, when I study here I can teach my child at home new words.

Elena Todorova

91情色

My favourite part of studying here is because its close and the class sizes are small. I can have more interaction with the teacher and ask questions. I enjoy learning here - the teachers are friendly and they explain everything well.
